British Airways boosts San Francisco service to three daily flights

• British Airways is increasing its San Francisco to Heathrow service to three flights per day for Summer 2027 

• The airline also plans to transform its lounge offering at San Francisco International Airport over the coming year 

• The announcement comes as British Airways prepares to celebrate 70 years of flights between London and San Francisco in 2027 

British Airways has today announced an increase to its San Francisco to Heathrow service for the Summer 2027 season, adding an extra daily flight from May 2, 2027, providing customers with even more choice and flexibility when travelling between Northern California and the UK. 

The expanded schedule will see British Airways operate 21 flights per week between London Heathrow and San Francisco during the summer months, reinforcing the airline's long-standing commitment to one of its most important transatlantic markets. 

The additional frequency will provide customers with a choice of morning, lunchtime and afternoon departures from Heathrow, while maximizing connections across the airline's global network via London. 

The expanded service comes as British Airways prepares to celebrate 70 years of flights between London and San Francisco in 2027. Reflecting the airline's continued investment in the market, the airline also plans to transform its lounge offering at San Francisco International Airport over the coming year.

The additional service will give our customers even more choice throughout the day and improve access to our extensive global network via London Heathrow.

For customer connecting onto India, British Airways has also announced an increase to its London Heathrow (LHR) to Bangalore (BLR) service to a year-round double daily operation (14 flights per week) from the start of the Summer 2027 season.
