St. Louis, 22 September 2026 - British Airways has today announced a major expansion of its new St. Louis-London Heathrow service for Summer 2027, introducing daily flights for more than four months of the season and increasing the number of seats on the route by 80 per cent compared to Summer 2026.
The airline launched its inaugural flight from St Louis to London Heathrow in April this year. The increased frequency reflects the strong demand from travelers across the St. Louis region and will provide customers with greater flexibility, more travel options and easier access to British Airways' extensive global network from London Heathrow.
The airline will operate an increased schedule of five flights per week from March 28, 2027, before further increasing to a daily service between April 19 and June 28 and again between September 6 and October 30. The route will be served by British Airways' Boeing 787 fleet.
Hubert Frach, British Airways’ Head of Sales North America, said: "We're delighted to be significantly growing our presence in St. Louis for Summer 2027 with daily flights to London Heathrow for more than four months of the season. The response to this route has been tremendous since launch only five months ago, and this expansion gives customers even greater choice and flexibility, while strengthening connections from St. Louis to London, Europe and our global network of more than 200 destinations. Thank you to the airport, tourism partners and the wider St. Louis community for their continued support."
When the airline launched flights between St. Louis Lambert International Airport and London Heathrow in April this year, it became the only UK carrier to offer a non-stop service between St. Louis and London. The route has supported both business and leisure travel, while strengthening ties between the Midwest and the UK.
“British Airways’ decision to increase service just months after the route launched is an important sign of the momentum behind this connection and the opportunity ahead for St. Louis,” said Brad Dean, President and CEO of Explore St. Louis. “International visitors are especially valuable to a destination because they tend to stay longer and spend more. That means this new daily flight has an impact that extends well beyond the airport, supporting our hotels, restaurants, attractions, retailers and cultural institutions. Growing this route is about growing the St. Louis economy.”
"This positive news from British Airways is a testament to the success the route to London has been for the St. Louis region," stated Jerry Beckmann, Acting Airport Director for St. Louis Lambert International Airport. "We are glad to be a part of this important relationship with British Airways and our regional partners."
“This announcement is fantastic news for St. Louis," said Ambassador Kevin F. O’Malley, Chair of the St. Louis County Port Authority. “This partnership has continued to grow, and we are thrilled that British Airways sees the strength of the St. Louis region in the global economy.”
Served by the airline’s Boeing 787 fleet, customers have a choice of three cabins – World Traveller (economy), World Traveller Plus (premium economy) and Club World (business class).
Customers will continue to have the opportunity to experience the airline’s latest business class seat, Club Suite, on select flights, offering personal space with direct aisle access, a full flat bed and a 17” high-resolution screen for entertainment. The cabin features a brasserie-style dining experience, with a choice of freshly prepared starters, mains, desserts, and cheeses.
The airline is also rolling out Starlink Wi-Fi across its Boeing 787 fleet, offering customers fast, free and reliable connectivity from the sky.
